Todi and its environs
A careful historian of the eighteent century had to access the castles, the villas and the strongholds owned by the medieval comune. He counted a good 365 of them, and thus he wrote that Todi could boast of having as many castle as the year's days. Many of them had been destroyed, many of theme become ruins, but thirty-seven of theme still represent the current communal hamlets. Even if lack of precision will be inevitable, we want to offere the reader a piece of essential information about them. Because of the vastness of the territory, we will follow four many itineraries.
