S. Stefano Church

 Just few feet from the walls, close to Porta Fratta, St. Stefano church lies. It is an ancient church where it is thought the martyrs Felicissimo, Eraclio and Paolino were buried. In 1584 the Commune ordered to find the dead bodies and in 1766 twenty-three bodies were discovered. The peculiar position of the church is due to the fact that the church could receive the light of the rising sun, symbol of divine presence.
